Spring
The meteorologist said there was a mere fifteen percent chance of rain.
But our love was like thunder,
vehement and resounding,
when we clashed
lightening struck fervidly
and ardently,
I surrendered to your light
and you struck me with your stinging blue fire,
our minds like clouds
swelling with confusion,
we didn’t know where the fuck to go,
except down,
devolved,
down,
drowning,
you left me expended
exhausted
from any source of light,
but
in the darkness I fashioned a way to find myself,
gently gathering the fallen leaves
and relishing the sunken muddy earth beneath my tattered heart,
I reminded myself how to feel
